Never Fad diet again!!

Never Fad diet again!!

Although fad diets can give good results a fad diet is something that cannot be used long term and will have to be stopped after a period of time due to not giving the body what it really needs to have full wellbeing and health.

Allot of fad diets are usually advertised by big companies and celebrities this gives people the confidence that it works, unto known to the consumer that most of the companies and celebrities that advertise the diets haven’t tried or used them themselves this being exstemly unethical and morally wrong let alone misleading to the consumer.

97% of people who try fad diets after getting some results stall with their results and put the weight straight back on after returning back to their normal nutrition, this is because once the body stalls with the fad diet the consumer doesn’t know what to do next to change things up to get the body to start getting results again.

Here’s a quick list of current Fad Diets:

The main reasons people do fad dieting is because they are usually easy to follow and give fast results… believe me doing anything fast to get results will only end up in crashing and burning, a quick example of what I mean is, imagine your on a hill on a go-cart without breaks the hill your about to go down is a nice easy ride to the bottom, beside you there is a really steep hill with another person on another go-cart getting ready to go down the hill, as you both set of at the same time the go cart on the step hill shoots of in front while your nicely going down the hill at a nice rate, after a little while the person on the steep hill go-cart starts to lose control of the go cart and puts their feet on the floor to slow down and stop, while you just happily cruse past them all the way to the bottom  of the hill…

The point of what I just said is this is the same with your body, the way you think is the way your body thinks, so if it feels its out of control and doesn’t like what’s going on it will stall, if it feels challenged but not to the point of out of control it will continue to get results and continue for a long long time.

So, what’s the solution to not fad dieting?

: Eat a full range of macronutrient’s and micronutrients (Protein, Fats Carbohydrates) (Vegetable’s)

: Protein is king so make sure all of your meals have a good portion of lean protein from 20-35g per meal.

: When eating carbohydrates try to stick to complex carbs such as sweet potato, rice, oats, try to avoid complex carbs such as bread, and pasta.

: When eating carbs try to eat them around your activity, and when you’re not doing any activity replace your complex carbs with more veg.

: Don’t be scared of fat, make sure each meal has a small amount of good fats such as olive oil, or a small portion of nuts, each meal should have around 10-15g of fat.

: So, protein is a must at each meal fats are a second in each meal and carbohydrates should only be used when your active, there are exceptions to this rule but it’s a good one to stick to.

: Drink at least 2-2.5L of fluids a day, we are 70% water so without it we don’t function to our full capacity i.e. metabolism, brain power, joint mobility, muscle function.

: Increase daily activity using a fitbit or similar step tracking device, set it to get you up and about every hour, try to get at least 10000 steps in every day.

: Change your environment. This can help in motivating you to do more and get more active.

: Get a good night’s sleep. 6-8 hours minimum in very dark room free from lights and electrical devices.

: Remove all bad food from the house to take away temptation, plus try not to go food shopping while feeling hungry.

The bottom line is we as humans have not evolved into being what most people are today, where we sit at computers for hours on end, eat all these massively high in sugar, fat and salt foods, unfortunately in today’s stressful society we seem to think we need to treat ourselves more and more with more and more affordable comfort foods the realises once you’ve put on allot of weight and feel awful about yourself, those friendly comfort foods have done nothing but made you feel rubbish and that you now need to do something about it before your health also really starts to suffer as well.

We are built to be active, eat good macronutrients and micronutrients feel good about ourselves and the only way your body will feel good is to give it what it wants when it wants.
